Information and Guidance
We understand that choosing the right care provider can be difficult, Trusted Homecare are here to help make things a little easier, to provide you with the options you need to make an informed decision about receiving home care which suits you.
What types of support can be provided with homecare?

Homecare or Domiciliary Care, is a popular alternative to residential care. This enables individuals to live within the comfort of their own home, surrounded by memories, friends and family and maintaining their current routines with additional support to live independently at home for longer. We understand that no two clients are the same, we can provide support from Home Help or Companionship through to Memory Care and support managing Complex Health conditions.

What options are there for helping me pay for homecare?

-
Local Authority funded care - a means tested allowance available to those who have less than £23,250 in savings or investments. If you believe you are below the threshold for receiving financial support, contact the Isle of Wight Adult Social Care team who can arrange a community care assessment. Continuing Healthcare - funded by the NHS usually for significant health conditions, these can be managed independently or via the NHS, if you manage your account independently you will be provided with a Personal Health Budget.
-
Self Funded - For those who do not meet the above, you may need to self fund your care and support, there are additional benefits which are available to you to help including Attendance Allowance which is available to those over the age of 65 years and is a non means tested benefit.

What happens if I need more or less care than I started with?

Our Management Team regularly review your service to ensure you remain happy and content with the care provided. During your reviews our teams will discuss with you any concerns our Caregivers have shared with them and are able to provide additional support or reduce your support if you are feeling back on your feet. Everyone's needs are different, which is why we don't offer a one size fits all care service. Our Homecare services are built around you.

You are registered with the Care Quality Commission why is this important?

CQC is the governing body that regulates care services in England. They ensure that care services are complying with the regulations that they set out in terms of how Care Professionals are recruited safely and how care is managed safely and effectively. This means that a CQC Registered provider will have met these regulations and must have insurance in place to offer you more protection and a greater level of service than hiring a self-employed independent carer or an online matching service.

A CQC registered provider, provides you with a managed service – this means that you have a qualified Care Manager who is approved and registered by CQC to oversee the care that you receive. This is especially important when care involves medication management, moving and handling people, catheter care, specialist conditions and dementia care.

Is travel time for the Caregivers taken out of my visit?

No, it is important that our Caregivers spend the whole time allocated to you, with you. Our Caregivers receive plenty of travel time to get between visits without it affecting you.

Are you able to support individuals with Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tubes (PEG) or Stomas?

Our Caregivers are trained and supported to provide the highest levels of care. Our Director Abigail is able to provide health related care skills to Caregivers to ensure they are able to meet your care needs safely and provide you with peace of mind, you're in good hands.

What time can your Caregivers visit?

Our care times are tailored to your needs and wishes, dependent on availability. Our teams start at 07:15am and finish at 10:00pm, we would be happy to explore the times you feel will work best for you.
